Constitutional Terrorism Don't get me wrong. I am not one of those bleeding heart liberals who oppose a little random slaughter throughout the "third-world" for the fiscal benefit of the military-industrial complex. I have said ever since I watched the World Trade Center(s) collapse that we should carpet bomb as much of the Middle East as is necessary to restore things to the way they were before September 11, 2001 - especially with regard to our rights and our privacy. After all, any true patriot knows that the way to deal with the threat of terrorism is not to turn America into a police state, but to kill the enemy. The problem is, although we have thoroughly decimated two entire countries so far (Iraq and Afghanistan), the "powers that be" are still actively eroding our rights and freedoms with scurrilous attempts to circumvent the Constitution of the United States, like the so-called "Patriot Act" and the "Homeland Gestapo" (Department of Homeland Security). What good does it do to keep America safe from the thereat of terrorism, if there is no "America" left? It is our rights under the Constitution that make us unique. Without them, we are nothing more than an odd collection of human flotsam whose ancestors massacred the original owners so that they could steal their land. Accordingly,
I believe that we should unite in sending a message to George Bush and
Congress to knock off their attack on the Constitution and start putting
some of that grossly overpriced ordnance where it belongs, on the oil
sheiks that are funding Islamic terrorism. |
